Webinar: Launch of ‘Towards a Youth SDG Index’ report
On 3 July 2023, SDSN AusNZPac Youth launched ‘Towards an AusNZPac Youth SDG Index’, a youth-led report that is the first in the world to use the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework to measure young people’s progress towards sustainable development.
The report and additional resources can be downloaded at https://ap-unsdsn.org/sdsn-youth/ausnzpac-youth-sdg-index/
This youth-led project is the first to use the SDGs to measure youth progress towards sustainable development. It will be of interest to youth leaders, policy makers, data experts, SDG advocates, and everyone in between!
The webinar will include a presentation of the report and a ‘Talanoa’ discussion with distinguished guests on the findings and implications, including how young people in our region compare to the rest of the population on sustainable development progress, the benefits and challenges of the SDGs to measure youth progress, and tips for others interested in undertaking a similar exercise.
Our guests include:
- Izzy Zhu-Maguire (SDSN Youth AusNZPac Coordinator and report writer)
- John Thwaites AM (Chair of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network AusNZPac),
- Imogen Kane (Australia’s 2023 Youth Representative to the United Nations)
- Harleen Rangi-Singh (2021 NZ Y25 list)
- Alexandre Dayant (Deputy Director, Indo-Pacific Development Centre, Lowy Institute for International Policy)
