Win a youth scholarship to attend the Ecocity World Summit!

The Ecocity World Summit, in partnership with UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Australia/Pacific and SDSN Youth, is giving students from Victorian universities an opportunity to attend the Ecocity World Summit in July 2017.

About the Summit

In July 2017 Melbourne will host the Ecocity World Summit, focusing on Changing Cities: Resilience and Transformations, and highlighting the need to deploy expert knowledge – academic, professional, civic – to make cities resilient in the face of rapid change.

Melbourne has been lauded as the world’s most liveable city, but is not immune to the challenges facing all cities. The Ecocity World Summit 2017 will harness the expertise and develop the networks needed to create a world of ecocities.

The summit will feature 100+ sessions and 300+ presenters from 30 different countries, including keynote addresses by Former US Vice-President and Nobel Laureate, the Hon Al Gore, and the Chairman of the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, Aromar Revi.

About the scholarship

Ecocity World Summit will provide the winning scholarship recipients the opportunity to attend one day of the conference, where they can listen to and learn from leading global experts and engage with the discussions. This is a fantastic opportunity for scholarship recipients to showcase their vision for Melbourne in 2030.

Students with a keen interest in international relations, climate change, urban planning and sustainable development are invited to apply by filling in the form below. Applicants must be under 30 years of age at the time of the conference and answer the competition question in order to be eligible for this scholarship.

Applications close COB Wednesday 31 May 2017

Places are strictly limited to one student for each day of the conference. First prize will have first choice in which day they wish to attend. Second prize, second choice, and third prize, third choice.

Winners will be notified by early June 2017.
