SDSN Youth AusNZPac Climate Action | 2021-2022 wrap up
During 2021 and 2022, SDSN Youth AusNZPac worked on several projects to help young people create effective climate action at their universities and in their communities. This page will take you through the projects and resources we created!
The Climate Crisis and Universities: Student Position Statement
SDSN Youth AusNZPac is excited to share our Student Position Statement on the Climate Crisis and Universities, which university students and staff can use to guide, advance and create climate action in their institution. The statement was developed with student sustainability leaders from Australia and New Zealand, and includes:
- The climate action goals that university students want their institution to achieve
- The support needs that students climate activities want from their institutions
- Ways students and staff can use this statement to create action in their institutions.
In addition to the Statement, SDSN Youth AusNZPac also developed resources to help students create their own position statement, including a DIY Workshop Template and a Statement Writing Guide.
How can we make our climate campaigns better?
Many young people are frustrated that their climate campaigns are not working as they’d hoped. To help address some of the biggest problems, SDSN Youth AusNZPac brought together climate activists and other participants from across the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific region to brainstorm solutions. These have been compiled into the report How can we make out climate campaigns better.
