The 2023 UN SDG Summit highlighted that, at the mid-point to 2030, the world is considerably off track on the SDGs, and called for redoubling and accelerating our efforts to achieve them.
SDSN AusNZPac invites you to join SDG stakeholders from all sectors, and a panel of global and local experts, to discuss the key takeaways and next steps for Australia from the Summit and from recent global proposals to accelerate SDG action.
Our fantastic panel includes:
- Jeffrey Sachs, SDG Advocate for the UN Secretary General, and President of SDSN – SDSN Framework for achieving the SDGs
- Shirin Malekpour, Associate Professor and 2023 Global Sustainable Development Report Lead Author, Monash Sustainable Development Institute – 2023 Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR)
- Kate Dundas, Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network Australia – UN Global Compact’s SDG Stocktake and Forward Faster plan
- John Thwaites (MC), Lead of the Transforming Australia SDG Progress Reports and Chair of SDSN AusNZPac and Monash Sustainable Development Institute
This workshop is part of a series of events reflecting on where we are in Australia at the mid-point of the SDGs, and discussing how we can accelerate action. Please join us at these other events!
