Public lecture: Jeffrey Sachs - Leadership for sustainable development

SDSN AusNZPac was thrilled to co-host SDSN president and globally eminent leader in sustainable development, Professor Jeffrey Sachs, for a public lecture in Melbourne on 11 Oct 2023. Prof Sachs discussed why achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is crucial for the wellbeing of all Australians, and what we can do in Australia to help turn around and accelerate their achievement.

University Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs is a world-renowned economics professor, bestselling author, innovative educator, and global leader in sustainable development. He is Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, and President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). He has been Special Advisor to three United Nations Secretaries-General, and currently serves as an SDG Advocate under Secretary General António Guterres.

The lecture was co-hosted by the Monash Sustainable Development Institute, SDSN AusNZPac, and the City of Melbourne.
